Ongoing Fallout and Leadership Shakeup
The Grok chatbot controversy had international consequences. Turkey banned the bot for insulting its president. Around the same time, X CEO Linda Yaccarino stepped down. While her resignation was reportedly planned, it added fuel to the situation.
Grok had previously sparked concern by downplaying the Holocaust. It had also posted about “white genocide” and censored criticism of Musk and Donald Trump. xAI blamed rogue staff or unauthorized changes for those earlier incidents.
Despite the controversy, Musk announced Grok will soon be available in Tesla vehicles. This move suggests xAI is continuing its product rollout amid growing public scrutiny.
